PRD 5.0 encrypts JDBC connection passwords with a length longer than 11 characters differently than PRD 4.8. This means if you use a password longer than 11 characters you cannot migrate PRPTs from Pentaho 4.8 BI Server to Pentaho 5.0 BI Server. You must edit every PRPT during the migration and re-enter the password for the JDBC connection.

Both PRD 4.8 and PRD 5.0 encrypt the password abcdefghijk as 520c4657510d0301045f41.

However if you use the password abcdefghijkl then PRD 4.8 encrypts the password as 520c4657510d0301045f4183 and PRD 5.0 encrypts the password as 520c4657510d0301045f41ae. The last 2 characters of the encrypted password are different.
