      Description

It would be helpful to have Log4JDBC preconfigured inside of PDI, so that end-users and/or Pentaho Support can easily enable the functionality, and get a better understanding of what JDBC calls are being made to their database connection.

Currently, this requires adding a new jar file to the lib path, and updating data-integration/classes/log4j.xml by adding new appenders and loggers.

We could simply add the file and have commented-out settings in the Log4J file, so users simply need to uncomment the settings, and switch to a Generic connection to use the custom driver class name.

This would be a good first-step towards PDI-14462.
