      Description

The Mondrian monitor captures lots of very interesting and useful metrics: # of statements currently open, cache hit rate, duration of SQL statements, number of segments, etc. It would be great if this information could be easily consumed by external monitoring applications, and JMX provides a standard framework for this. For example, tools like Nagios can use JMX to track application metrics and trigger alerts when thresholds are exceeded. Simple tools like JConsole are also useful both during development and in production for checking the current state of performance counters.
