      Description

While in PDI-2925 the feature of kettle.exe was removed. You cannot add a .bat file to the quick launch of Windows 7. The workaround is to add a cmd.exe to the quick launch and add /c <path to .bat> to modify it. This is due to microsoft security in Win 7.

I think PDI-3906 is the wrong jira. Thats about response times on the http client step!

One of our clients needs this solution but has issues with the submitted solution on the blog. I asked them if they tried the one from Jens Blog and they responded:

"Absolutely this is the one we tried. Problem here is that it just executes the bat file, which will provoke the DOS box to popup and scare the users as this not expected to happen on a regular start of a software.

Ideally we can sign the exe with our certificates to be able to validate it. We can discuss with Jens or your development for details if you like.."

The solution might need to be made to run in the background so that the DOS popup is not visible or start generating an exe in addition to the bat as alternative solution
