BI Platform should take advantage of the recently implemented http://jira.pentaho.com/browse/MONDRIAN-1231 .
In *all* of the implementations I ever worked, and I believe can be extended to the vast majority of usage, what we want is to be able to share cache.
This would imply changing the code of the publishers (schema workbench) to make sure the correct parameters are set
