    When using MySQL as the platform repository, the server loses connection to MySQL overnight (after periods of inactivity) and the server has to be restarted. By utilizing c3p0 for connection pooling we can avoid this problem. See Marc's forum post here: http://forums.pentaho.org/showthread.php?t=54939&highlight=c3p0&page=5

    We need to include the c3p0 solution as part of the MySQL distribution.

Implementing c3po on Pentaho 1.7.1 or earlier breaks the Management Services console (it can't connect). An implemented fix should be engineered to avoid this to prevent breakage of the Subscription Edition.

Sridhar, I included the C3PO in the managment console JAR and it worked fine.... If you use C3PO in the BI Server you need this too in the Managment Console....
